Paras Vora, M.D. - Vistar Eye Center

Education

Dr. Paras Vora is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in vitreoretinal medicine and surgery. He earned his bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He attended the University of Kentucky for medical school, and spent a dedicated research year working alongside retina specialist Dr. Romulo Albuquerque. He then completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Kentucky, training in both an academic medical center and a high-volume private practice to gain experience treating a wide range of complex retinal conditions.

Retina Care

Dr. Paras Vora was born and raised in Kentucky. He was introduced to Vistar Eye Center by fellow Vistar Retina specialist, Dr. Albuquerque. He and his partner, Laura, quickly fell in love with the practice, the team, and the beauty of Southwest Virginia, making it an easy decision to call the area home.

Dr. Vora is passionate about medical service and has traveled to India and Guatemala to provide eye care, helped establish a volunteer eye clinic in Kentucky, and hopes to to support the local community here by volunteering with the Bradley Free Clinic.

In his free time, Dr. Vora enjoys exploring the outdoors with Laura and their two dogs, hiking the scenic trails of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and spending time at the barn with Laura’s horses (you will likely find him at the barn sneaking them peppermints.) He is also a budding photographer currently trying his hand at film photography.
