Roanoke – Airport Rd., Salem and Smith Mountain LakeDr. Elizabeth Smith is a full-scope optometrist providing comprehensive vision care, ocular disease care, low vision care, contact lens, and optical. Dr. Smith graduated from Virginia Tech, in Blacksburg, VA, with a degree in Human, Nutrition, Food, and Exercise. She earned her Doctor of Optometry at the Kentucky College of Optometry in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Dr. Smith grew up in Lebanon, Virginia, and always knew she wanted a career in medicine. Her passion for eye care began while working for an ophthalmologist, where she discovered how rewarding it was to help patients see more clearly and improve their quality of life.
She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Pikeville, where she especially enjoyed serving rural communities with limited access to eye care. Dr. Smith then completed a residency at the Salem VA Medical Center, gaining advanced training in diagnosing and managing complex ocular diseases while caring for veterans.
Dr. Smith’s favorite part of practicing optometry is building lasting relationships with her patients and providing personalized care that helps them achieve their best vision.
Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her two nephews and niece. She also loves trying new restaurants, hosting get togethers with friends, thrifting, visiting farmers markets, and supporting local businesses.
