Services

Background

Dr. Hartranft joined Vistar Eye Center in 2006 after retiring from the U. S. Army as a colonel. In that same year, Lucentis injections became available for the treatment of macular degeneration. Dr. Hartranft feels these injections have given retina specialists the ability to help preserve vision and to successfully treat this devastating disease. In addition, an important component of his treatment plan is the partnership he forms with his patients.

“I like to present all options for treatment to my patients, thereby involving them in the decision process.”

Over the past twelve years, Dr. Hartranft has worked diligently to provide outstanding eye care to the residents of Southwest Virginia and the surrounding areas. He feels blessed to have so many patients trust him with their precious sight. Dr. Hartranft spends his free time traveling, hiking, kayaking, and fishing.
