Children's Eye CenterDr. B. Allen Watson is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in comprehensive and pediatric ophthalmology. Watson completed his Doctorate of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia in 1973. After a residency at VCU, he also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Allen Watson wrote a paper in college that compared the human eye to a camera. That research prompted an interest in medicine and vision in particular. A pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Watson loves kids and enjoys giving and receiving high-fives and fist bumps. He is compassionate and fun-loving and is often described as a kid himself – albeit a big one!
Although he’s practiced for many years, Dr. Watson still gets a lift from seeing how a child’s first pair of glasses can improve their quality of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Watson is a passionate outdoorsman. He loves to be in the mountains hiking, fishing, or hunting.
